Sir – The NT Government will this year construct a $5 million training and teaching facility at the Alice Springs Hospital site, allowing staff to be trained using state-of-the art technology to replicate real emergency situations.
The new building which will include a 100-seat theatre as well as a clinical skills training room and two 25-seat tutorial training rooms.
The space will also feature two video conferencing rooms, a student work area, offices and reception area. Local people undertaking post-graduate studies will be able to work and learn in Central Australia without having to travel interstate to further develop their skills.
The project will be delivered through Commonwealth funding and was announced during Budget 2014.
